Hedgerows are vital components of natural systems providing habitat, food and corridors for many animals. Therefore, it is highly important that we aim to protect our remaining hedgerows, some of which are hundreds of years old. However, Kingston currently has very limited data regarding the borough's hedgerows, thus we aim to correct this by implementing a community based survey. The data we collect can be used to express the importance of these ecological features, which will help up convey their importance for both man and wildlife hopefully protecting them for future generations.
